20+ coverage options to choose from
We provide comprehensive coverage tailored to your needs and lifestyle at Asset Benefit Consultants, located in Land o' Lakes, Florida. We cover a large variety of motorcycles, including:
Motorcycle insurance works similarly to auto insurance, offering many of the same types of coverage. Here are some options available for your policy:
This comprehensive insurance covers the cost of repairing or replacing your bike if it's damaged or stolen and any damages you may cause in an accident. In addition to the state-mandated coverages, comprehensive and collision insurance are commonly included in full-coverage policies.
A full-coverage policy is ideal for protecting your bike, even though it may be more costly than other types of insurance.
State-Mandated Coverages for Motorcyclists
These can include:
Collision and Comprehensive Coverage
These first-party coverages pay for repairing or replacing your motorcycle after a covered loss. Collision coverage includes damage from accidents with other vehicles or objects, including hit-and-run incidents. Comprehensive coverage insures against theft and "acts of God" such as flooding, fires, hail, and falling objects.
Comprehensive coverage is especially valuable for seasonal riders. It protects your bike while in storage, so even if you use it occasionally, it remains covered against potential damages.
Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability
This coverage will pay for any damage you cause to other drivers' vehicles and property in an accident. For example, if you collide with another car and incur $10,000 in medical expenses for the other driver, plus repair costs for their vehicle, liability insurance covers these costs.
These coverages are mandatory for riders in all states, including Illinois.
Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist Coverage
This policy offers protection in the event of incidents brought on by drivers who lack insurance or have inadequate insurance. There are two types: bodily injury and property damage, which function similarly to liability insurance.
In Illinois, uninsured motorist coverage is required. UM bodily injury coverage pays for medical bills if a driver who lacks insurance or has inadequate coverage injures you. UM property damage coverage pays for damages to your motorcycle caused by such drivers.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
PIP is first-party insurance that pays for your medical costs and lost income without regard to who is at blame in the event of an accident. PIP is required in some states and offers no-fault coverage, ensuring quicker payment of medical bills than liability insurance.
Coverage for Customized Parts
Standard comprehensive and collision policies may only cover factory-standard parts or have limited coverage for optional accessories. If you've added custom parts like chrome accessories, trailers, sidecars, or custom paint jobs, check with your insurer about coverage limits.
